Female Behind The Wheel

Female Behind the Wheel offers adult females a voucher that covers the cost of a driving course that is planned and structured to fulfill the criteria and requirements to get a driving license in Washington State and to become a lifelong safe and responsible driver.

According to a study done by getcircuit.com, interest in delivery driver jobs has surged by 479% nationwide in the last two years. Interest in food delivery driver positions has increased 321%, and while some of this is likely related to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is still a significant increase!

As a result, there will be more drivers and longer hours spent driving, which calls for expert training of new drivers to ensure both their own safety and the safety of those around them, and this is where our program comes in to assure high-quality driving education both in the classroom and behind the wheel.

The program refers its beneficiaries to highly qualified, state-approved, and licensed instructors by the Department of Licensing.

The program now targets immigrant women only who experienced gender discrimination when they were denied the right to drive in their native countries.

The program covers the cost of the knowledge test, driving test, and first-time driver's license issuance fee too.

The program is currently limited to offering translated resources that aid in passing the knowledge test due to a lack of funding, but we aim to expand our program to include more community categories.
